Born in China, Yurun has had a long music journey. He started playing the piano when he was 4 and later on picked up a guitar and drums. He lead his rock band to perform original songs in his city. Since he moved to US in 2010, he quickly solidified his conviction to make music as his career. During the 4 years study of film composition and music production in San Francisco, the city that’s in heat of contemporary art, he have acquired the knowledge and enthusiasm to create complex and sometimes eclectic film scores. His compositions span the gamut, stylistically. He later graduated from the prestigious Master of Music program in Screen Scoring from University of Southern California, where he was selected to receive The Harry Warren Endowed Scholarship.

Yurun’s versatile compositional voice have gained him lots of experience working for films, animations, TV commercials.Yurun’s recent work can be found on Top Chinese Box Office Hits like Detective Chinatown (2021) and Crazy Alien (2019), the Quibi’s hit short series When the Street Light Go on(2020), which got nominated by the NY Times as one of the 9 shows worth your time. He has also scored many multi award-winning and festival finalist films such as, Xin Yan: One Child Left behind (2019),The Birthday Gift(2019), She Comes in Colors Everywhere(2018), Mom and me(2018). His work has also been featured in big events and lead brand’s commercial campaigns. To name a few, 2013 Asian Youth Olympic Opening& Closing Ceremonies, BMW, KFC, Red Bull, Mcdonald’s and Tencent. He also Co-produced San Francisco based band The Beautiful Losers in 2017.

With his multicultural backgrounds, Yurun looks forward to working closely with talented musicians, directors, animators and game developers all around the world and hopes that they will be able to build life-long relationships.
